K9 Instinct Adventures
TestimonialsMy boyfriend and I own a five year old husky/shepard named Jaxx who was showing aggression to other dogs, and having small dogs this was a big concern. We had contacted and visited other trainers in the Okanagan but Shalah was the only one that wasn’t afraid to be hands on with Jaxx at our first meeting. During the first meeting she advised that because of his age boot camp would be best for him which takes at least 4-6 weeks. When it was time for him to come home Shalah asked us to bring our other little dog to her facility and that afterwards she would come back to our house. Right away when we got to her property I could tell Jaxx was a completely different dog, in a good way. He was no longer anxious or reactive when he saw us, he just looked so calm and happy. It was amazing to see Jaxx around so many dogs without growling or reacting to any of them. When Shalah brought him back to our house I was still in shock over how calm he was, I noticed right away the trust, respect and love he had for her. Anything she asked him to do he did without using any force or treats. Since Jaxx has been home it’s like having a brand new dog, he’s happier and we’ve had no issues with him and our little dog. Shalah has offered us continued support when it comes to Jaxx and any questions we have. We continue to take him to her for daycare/boarding and every time he’s so happy to be there. He has been there at least 6 times since training and every visit has been nothing but a positive experience for myself and Jaxx.
Shalah with K-9 instinct has been an amazing care giver for my dog Gus. He has been attending her kennels, day care and obedience classes since he was a puppy. He is now 8 years old. I drive over an hour approximately once a week in July and August for no other reason then to take Gus to spend time at her day care. I pass several day care and kennel facilities along the way, but I feel that her expertise is well worth the drive to have my dog get continued socialization. Thank you Shalah for all that you do for animals and all you have done for our family. Without you we would have an out of control large breed dog that we loved so much but would not be able to spend family time with because we would not be able to walk him or take him out in public.
I have known Shalah Nelson for about 9yrs. She is a sweet, kind and generous and talented person. My dogs went to her for about 2/3years 3 times a week for doggy daycare. And I’ve had dog obedience through her. I’ve sent a lot of clients her way. I was sad to see her leave my home town, cause I didn’t know who I would send my dogs to when I needed daycare. She takes pride in her work and I trust her whole heartedly with my animals. She is great at what she does. I miss not having her here but was happy she was able to continue to do what she does best and that is take care of and train dogs.
Georgia FrostTo whom it may concern,
With regards to Shalah Nelson of K9 Instinct Adventures, I have been a client of Shalah’s since the Fall of 2014. I originally went to her just for daycare for my 26 lbs. rescue terrier mix but soon decided that we needed some extra help with obedience & basic training as well. Shalah has helped me immensely with Fergus’ recall & behavior over the years. I still send Fergus at least once a week for daycare & have also attended many of her obedience classes (last week was the most recent). I truly believe that she has the best interest of the dogs in mind with her training style & have seen some pretty amazing results & not just with my dog but with many others as well. I have spent nearly $8,500 since November 2015 in vet bills for Fergus due to issues with his knees so I can say that I do not take my dog’s well being lightly & I would not hesitate to send my dog to daycare, boarding, or obedience with Shalah & I recommend her everyone.
Sincerely,
Trina MoleschiI have been a client of Shalah’s for just over 2 years with my now 3 year old boxer. My dog is my child and I am very particular on who I trust him with. Shalah has always been amazing. Before attending day care, he had quite a bit of separation anxiety which Shalah immensely helped with and now my dog Dexter shows minimal if any symptoms of separation anxiety. Shalah is an extremely empathic and compassionate person, towards people and especially dogs and other animals. I am extremely grateful for Shalah and her business.

To Whom It May Concern:
My wife, Janice Lacko, and I have been clients at Shalah Nelson’s K9 Instinct Adventures for the past year. During that time our dog, a young rambunctious Chocolate Lab, has stayed approximately 100 times while we were at work, has boarded overnights, and has attended obedience training with Shalah. We have observed that Shalah consistently uses a clear, non-punitive approach, always keeping in mind the best interest of the animals in her care and with the goal of helping them become better canine citizens.
We continue to recommend Shalah and K9 to anyone we know who is looking for consistent, positive training and daycare for their dog. We do this because through experiencewe have learned Shalah is professional in her methods, very knowledgeable, and is reliably approachable. She is a clear communicator, listens to our questions and willingly works with us.
Our experiences have taught us to have complete confidence in Shalah Nelson’s decision making. When we leave our dog with Shalah we know he is in caring and capable hands. Our dog is always happy to go to K9 Instinct Adventures and is always in great shape and spirits when we pick him up.
